At Arlington House, the comfort and welfare of our residents is of paramount importance. We are committed to providing a safe, home-from-home environment with the same high standards of care and support we would want for our own loved ones.

Arlington House is owned and run by husband and wife team, David and Roxana Steedman with the support of Care Manager Chilie Sibelo, Deputy Manager Ewelina Harding and a wonderful team of dedicated care staff, housekeepers, maintenance staff and chefs.

about The team

David – Proprietor and Registered Manager

Together with my wife Roxana, we ran a well-established and respected domiciliary care company providing care for our customers in their own homes.

In late 2018 we took over Arlington House as we felt it would suit our more hands-on approach and enable us to be more involved, accessible and supportive of our residents and staff.

Since March 2019 and with the support of a dedicated team of staff the home has been transformed, slowly but surely. We have instilled our ethos of patience, care, empathy and love. To us, “the resident always comes first”. We now have a happy well supported home where our residents know that they are genuinely cared about and that their best interests are at the forefront of everything we do.

Roxana – Proprietor

Roxana is in charge of accounting and payroll and whilst not always at the home she is always contactable via phone or email should residents, their families or staff have any queries.

Chilie – Care Manager

A former nurse with a wealth of experience in both a hospital and care home setting, Chilie oversees the day to day running of the home and is our clinical lead. Chilie keeps a close eye out to ensure our residents personal and social care needs are met. Chilie works closely with David and Roxana to continually improve the homes’ facilities and ensure the service we offer to our residents is safe, person centred and of the standard we would want for ourselves or our own loved ones.

Ewelina –  Deputy Care Manager

Ewelina has many years’ experience working within Care Homes as a Deputy Care Manager. Ewelina is in charge of monitoring and supporting our care staff to deliver safe, appropriate care to our residents, ensuring they engage with them respectfully, with empathy and kindness. Ewelina also has the important role of inducting new staff and supporting them as well as existing staff to develop themselves.

Our Staff

What can we say? They’re amazing – hardworking, caring and dedicated. It’s taken us a long time to build a team that truly love what they do and appreciate what a difference they make to our residents’ day and general well-being. From our Housekeepers to our Chefs, Laundry Assistant and Care Staff – we are grateful to have them with us and proud of them all.

You are all doing an amazing job

Thank you very much for looking after Dad so well, we really do appreciate it

To everyone at Arlington House, thank you all so much for after my husband for me. All the family have said how settled he has been and not so stressed out. I have been so relieved of this time. Thank you all again so very much

Thank you for all your hard work and commitment all year round, it’s noted and appreciated

Fantastic management run this care home, before the COVID19 pandemic I thought this, but even more so now. They have put the resident care and protection first. The residents are treated with respect and dignity at all times and it is more like a family than a clinical feeling which has helped our family feel better about being in a care home. I highly recommend Arlington House.

From the time we went to look at Arlington House we knew it would be the right place for our mum.  The management and staff were knowledgeable, professional but very approachable.

Thank you for the opportunity and being an excellent boss

I just want to say how grateful I am for your superb care for my husband. All your staff were so tolerant and fun

My mum does not understand that she has had a brain injury and is not capable of what she did before, but all the staff working there make her feel so welcome and safe that she has settled into this being her home.

Mum had been in Arlington House a year when we went into the first lockdown. She was extremely happy in the home and told me every time I had visited how good they were to her. They locked down early to keep the residents safe and we were grateful for that even though it was hard not to see her. We did get to visit in 2020, but it was hard for her to hear me, 3 foot down a table and wearing a mask, so I write her letters telling her all the family is doing and the manager goes and reads them to her. The staff have been wonderful having to cope with extreme difficulties in the early days of Covid, and the owner got us a pod, so we could see her before Christmas. Presents and little treats have still found their way into her because they are so well organised and take them early so they can be sanitised. She enjoys her food now and eats a meal. Can’t praise the staff and owners enough. Excellent care.

Thank you so much for all your care for Mum, you all do such a special job

A big thank you for taking care of Dad, we will always remember your kindness

On behalf of the family I can’t thank you and your staff enough for the great job you are doing in caring for Nan

Thank you for all you and your staff do for my mother

Here is the first instalment for a year of support for the activities you provide for residents, in memory of your exceptional kindness to my dear friend and for coming to the funeral service on 3rd January

When we decided to visit our daughter for a while, we felt Mum could not be left alone and needed respite for that period.  It was difficult to find anywhere that had a vacancy but Arlington House did and we went on holiday fearing that she would demand to go back home when we returned. She, however, stunned us by saying she was quite happy to remain in your care and how lovely everyone was and that they took great care of her.

She tells me very time I visit how well you all look after her, so a big thank you to you and all the staff for taking such good care of her. You have lifted a great weight off our shoulders, and I feel as if I have my mum back.

We know we made the right decision with Arlington House, the residents are treated as residents and not as an afterthought, they are treated with respect and their health and wellbeing is at the heart of everything they do.

Our mum was a very independent lady, she had suffered with Parkinsons for a number of years but was able to cope at home on her own.  Unfortunately, she suffered a stroke which changed all of this, and made her care needs more complicated than a lot of care homes are able to cope with.
