VE Day at Arlington House

Today marks the 75th anniversary of VE day and all of us have had a really enjoyable time together remembering and celebrating.

Our fabulous chef James put together a delicious buffet lunch which we held in the conservatory – spilling out on to the patio.

We chatted, sang, laughed, danced and ate – it really was a fantastic morning/afternoon together – which will continue in to the early evening ….. if we can move after James’ amazing freshly baked cakes and a teatime selection of hot and cold food.

Today may add a little sadness for some of us, on top of the already difficult times we are going through. I hope it is some assurance to family and friends that our residents are loved, well looked after and supported as we wait patiently to come out the other side of lockdown.

I should probably clarify our position in light of a possible easing of restrictions by Boris this weekend. As it stands, our policy on visitors will remain steadfast until we are able to offer you, our residents and our staff robust reassurances that the risks of infection are not only minimal but there is a realistic way of containing and treating anyone suspected of the virus, should it be required.

Thank you for your support in keeping Arlington House COVID-19 free.
